Our Supreme Idiots in the SealedCoverCourt hit a new low in their relentless campaign and attack on Hinduism, rituals and temple control etc. The court completely banned the sale of firecrackers in Delhi. Good intentions aside, just for sheer stupidity this order has to be assailed. E.g. a delhi-ite can just drive across the corporation boundary and buy them in UP, Haryana etc. and happily light them...

Yet another idiotic arrogant overreach by this unelected, unaccountable a law into itself tyranny - who have time and again reserved their derision only for Hindu rituals. As usual PETA etc. are co-cronies in this lawsuit as to them goats which get slaughtered in EID are scared of the fireworks sound.

All in the cloak of pollution in Delhi, when year after year IITK and other scientific committees are repeatedly pointing out that just damn sweeping and carting away the dust from roads will eliminate particulate matter in the air by Half !!

But then by doing that and really making a difference how can you be perceived as "progressing" (of course only for hindu rituals).

Pathetic, this order will only create criminals out of good folks, watch it.. happen.
What next, to stop the smoke from Haryana/Pujab (when farmers burn their fields to prepare for new sowing) ban agriculture ?

Mesmerised by Maestro..

Attended Mastero Ilayaraja's concert yesterday in Hyderabad. It was a religious experience. This concert was a demonstration of what is good in India as well as what is wrong.

GOOD:
A person, from a very disadvantaged background can come up through sheer hard work, perseverance and talent! The maestro himself !!

BAD:
Freeloaders, masquerading as VIPs how they trump those that pay for the best seats in the house ! The level of corruption on overselling and not even having enough seats even in the Rs.10000 section !

Well, this is India for you !

Though I acknowledge the international exposure that Raja enjoys, still don't understand why we have to spend money to indulge a hungarian symphony, when there is local talent that is yet to be showcased. Will the same hungarian symphony orchestra take Mastero's troupe and perform with them in Hungary ? Make In India means with local talent is something that is yet to sink in our moviedom. I couldn't fathom what kind of additional value I got for this "hungarian orchestra"!
Raja held court, in telugu and dished out an almost 100% telugu fare, with a few aberrations in Hindi. I would have expected him to perform a few in Tamil why he chose to slip in Hindi instead of Tamil is beyond my reasoning...

Now onto the brilliance !

A total of almost 40 songs that too over 3:30 hours was a feast. Mano, Chitra, Karthik, Vijay Prakash, Sadhana Sargam etc performed the songs with aplomb. We all have seen Chitra and Manoj dish out criticisms in TV music talent shows, it was poetic justice to see the mastero correct them and even asking them to repeat correcting the mistakes !

I couldn't help but miss SPB, with Raja also musing as to how his only true friend has been his Harmonium as well. It was also plain truth as to who was replaceable, with other singers pitching in admirably, and the sore loser IMO was SPB and the audiences to some extent ! It also made it painfully obvious, that it was never SPB's composition to begin with !

Come to think of it, it was like any other religious experience, with special Qs, undeserving VIPs and in the end everyone got the equal blessings and enjoyment in front of the GOD !!

English Apartheid...

An almost unnoticeable judgement by our Supreme Court brings forth a very important point...

The court set aside a lower court's judgement as "incomprehensible" not due to any complicated legal points, or difficult to grasp issues, but only due to "incomprehensible English".

Even to a person reasonably fluent in English this judgement is incomprehensible..

Even when I was growing up, I have seen lot of folks who studied in the English medium failing to grasp a subject or failing to communicate their otherwise perfect understanding of the subject, all because of ENGLISH !!

Even now, the kids I teach at home are able to hold their own debate, discuss, understand and convey all the concepts in Telugu well but fail miserably in communicating the same in English!!

The British made English a premium offering to get a plush job and future to make life easy for them. Even after 67 years after independence we are still making it lot easier for them and incredibly difficult for fellow Indians..

It is time each state made the full education spectrum available in the mother tongue of Indians.. Also mother tongue as medium of instruction should be compulsory in early ages at the very least.

This so called "english advantage" is keeping us ignorant of basic sciences, history, geography most importantly our own culture and glorious past!

It is time we reconnected with it and restored what was fully "open source" based knowledge and research... It has been proven time and again that children who study in their own mother tongue excel in whatever they learn..

Imagine if an English knowing common man is treated like this by the arrogant idiots in higher judiciary, what happens to the common man who don't know the language at all.

There is a saying "Never mock a person who has an accented English, it only means they know some other language better...."

டியர் ஜூனியர் உடன்பிறப்பே !

இது நாள் வரை இருவரில் ஒருவனாக இருந்த நான் இப்போது "தனி ஒருவன்" அரங்குகளில் பெரும் வெற்றி அடைந்த பிறகும், ஆட்சியில் அமர்வது வெறும் காட்சியாகி கானல் நீராகும் அபாயம் சூழ்ந்துள்ள நிலையில், இன்னும் "இருதலை" கொல்லி எறும்பாகத்தான் இருக்கின்றேன்.

இந்த இன்னல்களுக்கிடையே எனது "நமக்கு நாமே" பயணத்தை கேலி செய்து கொக்கரிக்கும் ஆரியவின சதியாளர்களை இனம் கண்டு அவர் மாயையில் விழமாட்டோம் என சூளுரைப்போம் !

இப்பயணத்தின் நோக்கம் "இனி உங்களுக்கு நீங்களே" என எடுத்துரைப்பதல்ல, இனி ஆட்சியில் அமரவேண்டுமானால் இனி நமக்கு நாமே என்றுணர்ந்து செய்யும் கடும் பயணம்.

ஆம் எமக்கு - "நமக்கு நாமே", இதனை நன்கு புரிந்து - சதியாளர் செய்யும் பொய் பிரச்சாரமான "இது மக்களுக்கு - நமக்கு நாமமே" போன்ற சதிவலையில் வீழ வேண்டாம்.

இவர்களது ஆரிய மதத்தில் 4 துணைவியர் கொண்டு ஒரு மறத்தமிழன் வாழ முடியுமா ? அல்லது ஒரு புதிய குஷ்பூ வந்தவுடன், சுலபமாக தலாக் சொல்லி ஒருவரை விடுவித்து இன்னொருவரை வாழவைக்கத்தான் முடியுமா ?
